The Institute of WorkComp Professionals (IWCP) trains and certifies independent insurance agents and their support staff to navigate the complicated workers’ compensation system and act as advocates operating between employers and their insurance companies.
After completing a rigorous training program and passing a final exam, these insurance professionals are awarded one of four designations:
Certified WorkComp Advisor (CWCA) -- for licensed insurance producers/agents
MasterWorkComp Advisor (MWCA) -- for licensed insurance producers/agents
Certified WorkComp Specialist (CWCS) -- for agency support staff
Associate WorkComp Advisor (AWCA) – for insurance company personnel
The IWCP’s graduate designee’s are trained to find and fix errors and recover money already paid by employers for their WC insurance. They create an overcharge-free program by educating employers and to establish the IWCP’s copyrighted processes to reduce costs and litigation arising from injured employees:
• Hiring process
• Classification codes
• Understanding/controlling experience modification factors
• Preventing causes of injuries, evaluating safety programs/procedures
• Establishing medical relationships to provide most effective care for injured employees
• Implementing/monitoring injury management program
• Return-to-Work, Recovery-at-Work, Back-on-the-Job programs
• Preparing and verifying annual WC audit, finding and correcting errors; getting refunds for overcharges.
