8 Must Eat & Drink Spots Near HubSpot INBOUND 2023 | Census

Growing up in the suburbs of Boston, the best part of my weekends was venturing into the city for concerts, museums, and most importantly: food. Boston is home to an exploding food scene and as the Seaport District has grown in scale and popularity, so too have the number of delicious restaurants. 😋

I’m excited to be back in my home city for INBOUND 2023 at the Boston Convention Center (BCEC) — Census is sponsoring, and I’m looking forward to meeting other data-driven marketing leaders. I’m also incredibly excited to make the rounds at all my favorite restaurants in the Seaport and try out some new ones, too.

In the name of sharing data and marketing insights, I figured I’d also share some of my favorite food spots in the area. Most are within walking distance of the BCEC or a short Uber ride away. Check them out and put them on your itinerary:

Food to knock your Sox off:

Nautilus Pier 4 

(12-minute walk from the BCEC)

‎Seafood in Massachusetts? Groundbreaking. Nautilus Pier 4 is the sister restaurant to its Nantucket counterpart. Their seafood-centric menu boasts a delightful selection of fresh catches, skillfully prepared to perfection, ensuring an unforgettable culinary experience for seafood enthusiasts.

As a tomato enthusiast, I’m partial to the pan con tomate and the heirloom tomato salad. And, as a spice aficionado, I’ll never say no to spicy Szechuan Dan Dan noodles. Spending time on the water is always delightful, but getting to do it at Nautilus 4 with delicious food & drink in hand makes it that much more of a treat.

Lolita Fort Point

(8-min walk from the BCEC)

One thing to know about me: I’m always down for Mexican food. Lolita, with its lively atmosphere and authentic cuisine, makes it easy for me to stand steadfast in that decision. This author highly recommends the hot queso dip (sensing a theme? 🌶) and grilled street corn to start. And I could never turn down chilaquiles, especially in salad form. From the food to the cocktails, all the way down to the decor, Lolita gets a hat tip from me.‎

Strega Italiano

(13-min walk from the BCEC)

‎Strega Italiano is like that old friend who always knows how to make you feel good. Classic Italian dishes made with love and the freshest ingredients – what more could you ask for? It's like a trip to Italy without the jet lag. Pasta, pizza, all the good stuff – they've got it nailed. So good, in fact, that the Census team is hosting a dinner there on September 7th at 6:30 PM. If you’re a detailed reader and catch this tidbit, you should save your seat to join us. Espresso martinis on me for anyone who signs up off of this blog post. 😉

Yankee Lobster

(11-min walk from the BCEC)

‎Were you really planning on visiting Massachusetts without putting back a single lobster roll? Blasphemy. Yankee Lobster Co has been around since 1950 — long enough to hone their craft. Yankee Lobster is a fixture in Boston — come for the lobster rolls, stay for the calamari, mac & cheese, oysters… and just about anything else on the menu. It’s not too far from the BCEC, so no one will notice a thing when you dip out for a little afternoon pick-me-up. 🦞

Wicked Good Bars:

It’s not a meal without a beverage to wash it down — thankfully, the Seaport has no shortage of bars and breweries to check out during your downtime at INBOUND 2023. Whether you’re a craft beer aficionado, like your martinis extra dry, or prefer to wind down with a cup of coffee, there’s something for everyone here.

Harpoon Brewery

(14-min walk from the BCEC)

 Harpoon is a veteran on the scene and for a good reason. This brewery's welcoming beer hall vibe is loved by locals and visitors alike. Come to Harpoon for some time-tested, classic brews, stay for the fun pilot batches. If you, like me, love a snack while you’re sipping, I’d highly recommend getting one of every kind of pretzel. If you have a few extra hours to spare, I’d recommend taking the brewery tour — you get to see how the sausage beer is made and try as many samples as you’d like. 

Lucky’s Lounge

(7-min walk from BCEC)

 Lucky’s Lounge is an absolute gem — one that I cannot in good conscience gatekeep from you. Step inside, and you're instantly transported to a jazz-infused era where live music sets the tone. 🎷 The vintage-inspired decor and laid-back ambiance create an intimate setting for sipping on handcrafted cocktails that are as smooth as the tunes. If you’re a fan of dive bars & cool bartenders, this is the place for you.

Trillium Fort Point

(11-min walk from BCEC)

 Beer drinkers across the country are obsessed with Trillium. Fun fact: my partner and I once ran into his cousin here, who’d driven from Maryland just for a growler of her favorite beer. If you’re someone who’s excited by 12 different IPAs on tap, you’ll be a kid in a candy store here. I’ll be honest, as an amateur beer drinker, I’m a little out of my depth at Trillium. That said, it’s also the only place where I’ve ever gotten to sip a beer that tastes like a candy bar, and for that, it’s got a special place in my heart.

Cisco Seaport Garden

(12-min walk from BCEC)

‎Can’t make it to Nantucket during your trip to INBOUND? Cisco Seaport Garden is the next best thing. This 14,000-square-foot beer garden is the perfect spot to sip a late-summer beer and pretend you’re on the beach. I’m partial to the frosé, but some other favorites include the Whale’s Tale Pale Ale, Grey Lady Wheat Ale, and the Mango Hazy IPA. It’s hard to capture the essence of a New England summer in a beer, but Cisco comes pretty damn close. ☀️
