Nobody wants to have to figure out how to interact with something. Really, you don't want them to have to think at all. The best design is the least intrusive. Think hard about how a person will actually engage with what you are putting in front of them. Your visitors shouldn't have to consciously think about what they're doing when they're using your interface.
