Sensor Tower data shows that CNN saw the most material increases in user traffic on desktop web, mobile web and mobile app in the US during the first televised presidential debate and around the time of the assassination attempt on Donald Trump. On the other hand, WSJ saw the most significant lift in traffic around the news of President Biden exiting the 2024 US presidential election.
