The Best Advice from Keeping the Seat You've Earned: The 2023 Global Comms Webinar
Article

I am a strategic results-driven communications leader with a global view and passion for building brand reputation in complex, matrixed and highly-competitive environments, working closely with partners and senior execs across geographies, cultures and languages.

With more than two decades of communications expertise in growth media markets, I have successfully managed international communications teams in the United States, Latin America and Spain. Through multiple leadership positions, I have developed a broad corporate, trade and multicultural consumer communications background, including expertise in media relations, CSR and DE&I communications, digital communications, internal communications, government relations and crisis management.

Throughout my career, my focus has been to develop diverse high-performance teams that excel in rapidly changing environments, with a clear understanding that “purpose” is what drives individuals to do extraordinary things. Being a veteran Crossfitter and passionate mountain hiker, I have experienced it first-hand, as you often reach your limits and must connect with your true purpose to accomplish and surpass your goals. At work, my mission has always been to have a meaningful impact in our employees and audiences’ lives by managing the company's external and internal narrative through award-winning communications campaigns driven by a deep sense of purpose.

Since I joined Telemundo, I have been instrumental in developing and promoting some of the network's pro-social initiatives such as the decade-long educational campaign "El Poder de Saber" (The Power of Knowledge), recently rebranded "El Poder en Ti" (The Power in You); the company-wide voter registration campaign "Vota por tu Futuro" (Vote for your Future); and the year-long 2010 and 2020 Census awareness campaign “Hazte Contar” (Be Counted), as well as other impactful initiatives focused on key social issues including civic engagement, education and Latina empowerment, among others.

Previously, as the Vice President of Corporate Communications and Public Responsibility at MTV Networks in New York, I had the opportunity to oversee the network's' efforts to support minorities and disadvantaged groups. Prior to that, I proudly led the development and execution of MTV Latin America’s successful traveling “Youth Forums” and the network's pro-social campaign, “Voces.”

I believe that by leveraging the power of media, fueled by innovation and technology, we have the privilege and responsibility to make the world a better place.
