Today, my only mission is demand generation. Getting the fundamentals right so the team can understand which actions drive revenue. Then testing and iterating using a growth marketing framework to continually increase our ROI.
In my previous demand gen role at Meltwater that I moved to mid Q2 2020 I took the UKI from 2.5X to 7X. And created a positive impact across EMEA following the design and implementation of new landing pages and Google Ads account restructures. Then ultimately broke 4X ROI massively beating the 20% YoY growth target.
Previously at Meltwater I was leading marketing for the emerging technologies division at B2B SaaS company Meltwater. My role goes beyond B2B marketing, i've been fortunate to have input into the product itself including three successful products launches:
APIs - news and social media data that can be blended with internal sales data etc for better forecasting
Packaged Datasets - launched with AWS Data Exchange
Digital Marketing Insights - a report providing marketing directors with a fast overview of the high and lowlights of their spend across paid earned and owned media.
Prior to Meltwater I enjoyed a challenging two plus years solving marketing and business problems at a startup in Berlin as a Digital / Brand Marketing Manager which taught me a great deal. Having worked closely with the CEO I improved my marketing and product skills in addition to receiving an in-house business training. This demanding yet rewarding experience I would highly recommend to anyone entering business as no matter your job role it betters your decision-making by focusing the mind on capacity, runway, revenue and P&L.
The Side Hustle: Having worked and consulted with a number of influencers I tested legitimate tactics using my own channel @ben_od (cycling) on which I have enjoyed sustained organic growth, that has resulted in and continues to deliver numerous brand partnerships and consultation engagements.
