I'm a former investigative journalist (words: Refinery29, Elite Daily, The Zoe Report, Business Insider, ESSENCE, etc.) turned "brand fixer upper/marketing maven" with a deep passion for empowering people through beauty. Upon being laid off from my last editorial post in October 2018, I rolled up my sleeves — diving "heart first" into the world of perfumery, given its well-documented, transformative effects on mood. Noting a disparity in mainstream attention towards Black-owned fragrance labels, I emerged nearly three years later in October 2021 to debut my best idea yet: MOODEAUX.
