I embarked on my professional journey in 2006. After graduating from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi (Radio & TV Journalism, Batch 2005–06), I began working for the BBC World Service in April 2006 as a radio production assistant.
At the BBC World Service, I gained valuable experience evolving as a team leader and taking on the role of studio manager (audio-visual editing). The organization provided numerous opportunities to showcase my audio mixing and team management skills, as well as my multitasking abilities.
Over the eight years from April 2006 to March 2014, I completed more than thirty field assignments across India. Key assignments included covering the Uttar Pradesh elections (2007), Nepal elections (2007), Gujarat assembly elections (2007), Delhi bombings (2008), Jaipur bombings (2008), Chhattisgarh elections (2008), the Mumbai 26/11 attacks (2008), general elections (2009), and a Republic Day special audio program with Army personnel at the LOC.
In May 2014, I took on the role of consultant for multimedia training in Bhutan, where I trained fresh graduates and media professionals in scriptwriting for radio, television, print, and the web, as well as fieldwork, story assembly, and audio-visual editing.
I entered the development sector in September 2014 with Development Alternatives and subsequently held positions at NGOs such as GIZ, the American India Foundation, and Sangath.
The communication strategies I developed for social media and key publications—such as annual reports, impact briefs, blogs, articles, and case studies—enabled me to boost online visibility and outreach for my previous companies.
While I am proud of all my past work, my most treasured achievements are my social media content and a microsite called Bio & Div for children, focused on biodiversity.
