I currently serve as the Senior VP for Strategic Initiatives at Daemen in Amherst. As such, I am responsible for the student life experience from recruitment through retention, including the management of enrollment services, marketing and communications, and student affairs. Additionally, I serve as associate faculty in several different masters and doctoral programs.
Previously, I held senior leadership positions at the University of the Arts in Center City, Philadelphia, Virginia Intermont College, in Bristol, VA, and the University of Lynchburg in Lynchburg, VA. An energetic and innovative leader, I have served on various committees and organizations, including a 3-year term as president of the Virginia Association of College and University Housing Officers (VACUHO), co-chair of the Delaware Valley Student Affairs Conference (DVSAC), and Secretary for the Washington Square West Civic Association (WSWCA). I have presented at state, regional and national conferences on topics ranging from staff supervision to retention and have received numerous honors and awards including the Outstanding Professional for a Four-Year Institution (2004) from the Virginia Association of Student Personnel Administrators, Buffalo Business First 40 under 40 (2017), and the Fred Turner Award for Outstanding Services to NASPA (2018). Additionally, I have presented for national audiences on a variety of important topics in higher education, including behavioral assessment and intervention teams (BAIT), emergency response, and leadership.
I hold a BA in History and Secondary Education and a Masters in Education from the State University of New York (SUNY)- College at Potsdam, as well as an earned doctorate (Ph.D) from the University of Virginia in Higher Education administration. I reside outside Buffalo, NY with my wife, Jessica and my four children (Savannah, 17; Charleigh, 15; Lincoln, 10, and Brooklyn, 7).
