Our mission is to be the most important partner for the most important enterprise cloud companies of the future. It's been an amazing journey having backed such stalwarts as Salesforce.com, Zoom, Bill.com, Doximity, SuccessFactors, ServiceMax, Veeva, Box and Yammer among many others. Emergence won the Venture Capital Firm of the Year from the National Venture Capital Association in 2017, the first ever awarded. I recently decided to step back from an active investing role to focus all my efforts on impact investing and philanthropic initiatives.
I love entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship and am a big believer in giving back. I am a Founding Board member of Endeavor which helps entrepreneurs around the world in developing economies and have served on that board for 20 years. I led the successful spinout as Founding Chairman of the Kauffman Fellows Program, the leading educational fellowship in venture capital. I served as Chairman of California Research Center for HBS and on the board of the Rock Center for Entrepreneurship. I served on the board of the NVCA.

I believe entrepreneurship is the finest engine of capturing human potential on the planet and the practice needs to be spread far and wide. Great entrepreneurs need great financial partners to achieve their dreams which is why I'm equally focused on spreading good practice globally on that front.

Started a Family Foundation called Greenbridge whose mission it is to unlock human potential in a sustainable way. Focus areas include protecting a sustainable planet, racial equity and opportunity, Education, functioning Democracy and many others. We like backing ambitious entrepreneurs with big ideas and bigger hearts.

Was a Dartmouth '89 and HBS '94. For fun like to travel abroad, play tennis and golf, hang with my two great kids and wife, workout, and enjoy a great pinot noir. Funniest fact is I'm a twin married to a twin!
