Retail these days is about the skillful blending of Probabilities and Possibilities. Probabilities are great when they are available, and still valid. But it is now more important than ever to explore and experiment with Possibilities, the new unknowns and opportunities that are always emerging. What is the right balance of Probabilities and Possibilities in your business? Knowns and Unknowns? Data and Design?

The depth and breadth of my experience has given me visibility and experience over the full range of retail and wholesale businesses. I understand that there are both evolutionary and revolutionary steps that must be taken to put change into motion. There is an urgency to solving problems "now" while being mindful of the "future" that will require longer term evolutionary decisions . Your business has problems and opportunities NOW. Your business is generating best sellers and markdowns NOW. What are the decisions and changes you need to make NOW in order to put your business on the right path to the right FUTURE? Is your PRODUCT aligned with your BRAND PROMISE? Is your BRAND PROMISE sufficiently clear and distinct?

I am a multi-faceted executive with breadth and depth of experience in both the retail and wholesale worlds...both branded and private label. My “vertical” business acumen begins with product conceptualization and progresses through merchandising & design to sourcing and finally to retail implementation. I focus on strategic planning and merchandising, competitive analysis for pricing and positioning, managing the Time/Action calendar, space configuration and product flow, seasonal conversion and risk mitigation...understanding the roles of both low risk and high risk products. Risk is a brands' best friend. Risk creates differentiation. Risk has to be planned and managed. Retail assignments include Bullock's/Macy's, Sak’s Fifth Ave, Abercrombie & Fitch, and American Eagle Outfitters. Brand management experience includes assignments with Tommy Bahama, Izod Golf, Orvis, P90X and as President of Polo Ralph Lauren Boys, President of Donna Karan Kids, Sr. VP of Ben Sherman North America, and Group President of Merchandising & Design for Oxford Apparel.
