I am a strategic and legal advisor to entrepreneurs, high-growth companies, investors and boards; and have practiced law for more than 25 years at some of the most highly regarded firms in the country.

I'm currently a partner at Goodwin Procter LLP, where I Co-Chair the Global Technology M&A Practice. In the biggest M&A year in history (2021), we transacted on more M&A deals than any other law firm in the world; and we have remained the #1 firm in the world for global M&A deal volume since then.

I have significant experience in all types of M&A transactions for both public and private companies, private equity sponsors, venture capital firms and hedge funds, at transaction sizes ranging from under $100 million to several billion dollars, and have advised on over 300 transactions having a total value of over $175 billion. Situated in Silicon Valley and SF, I primarily focus on technology deals, but also have expertise in consumer products, financial services and many other sectors. In addition, I advise a select number of emerging companies as outside general counsel.

I am honored to have been recognized by Global M&A Network as one of North America’s top 50 M&A lawyers and have been selected for inclusion in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, America’s Best Lawyers, and the 2012 through 2022 editions of both Northern California Super Lawyers (including its “Rising Stars” list) and The Legal 500 U.S. I have also been been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America for my work in Corporate Law in 2021 and 2022.

I have worked on many notable deals in technology, including Zoox’s sale to Amazon, Qualtrics’ sale to SAP, The Climate Corp's sale to Monsanto, Nest's sale to Google, Maker Studios' sale to Disney, Oculus'​ sale to Facebook, Dropcam's sale to Nest, and Lynda.com's sale to LinkedIn. On the buy side, my clients have included Box, PayPal, Informatica, Sony, Skype, SingTel/Amobee and Atlassian; as well as PE sponsors such Silver Lake, Goldman Sachs, Francisco Partners, Ontario Teachers, EQT and Nordic Capital.
