Lizzy Kolbrener

I'm a Technical Writer at Google, collaborating with product managers, software engineers, and UX researchers to write useful content for enterprise developers. I also volunteer my time as a content writer and UX writer for the A11y accessibility initiative, and I frequently teach internal courses on Technical Writing and Writing for Accessibility. Outside of my role at Google, I have taught composition courses to art and design students at College for Creative Studies and a technical writing course at University of Detroit Mercy's engineering school.

Prior to joining the tech industry, I worked as a Digital Content Manager at Carnegie Mellon's Integrated Innovation Institute. I was our team's lead content strategist, marketer, video producer, brand storyteller, and executive communications writer. In my role, I highlighted faculty and student research about technology, and wrote stories and produced videos about the Internet of Things, product design, and data science.

In December 2021, I earned my Master of Arts in Professional Writing from Carnegie Mellon University. As a graduate student, I refined my writing skills and gained experience in usability research, software documentation, web design, visual communication, and user experience.
