Actionable Insights Help Backstage Connect the Right Talent to the Right Opportunity

Life is easiest for me when I can quantify it.
Growing up, I ran everything from wardrobe decisions to afterschool activities through a process.
In college, I learned how to apply that thinking to running a business.
It all led to my career now in business intelligence, where I work with stakeholders across the business to answer questions with data.

After my first internships in advertising, I moved into market research with a hypothesis: the best business decisions are science-backed. In my experience, when people had access to insights, they not only made better decisions, but could actively contribute to a shared mission. I believed accessible data was the key to making this all possible.

I worked as a consultant for Fortune 500 companies, helping teams access and understand insights. My work varied from running in-person focus groups, to uncovering best-in-class products, to national sales projections. I was an innovative Excel jockey and had fun building my own interactive spreadsheets and teaching myself R for our first “big data” project. New skills led me to new areas of study: a master’s program in business analytics, and the field of data science. With that, came a new role helping knowledge workers quantify, then qualify their productivity and focus.

Today, I lead Business Intelligence at Backstage and across 7 additional companies we’ve merged with. With a small team of 3, I drive an approachable data culture where everyone has access to tools and insights they need to trust, understand, and communicate how their efforts support our company-wide strategy. Turns out, life isn’t just easier when I can quantify it; that’s true for all of us, especially at work.
