Most recently as executive vice president, I am the driving force behind the ESSENCE Festival of Culture – the behemoth festival by ESSENCE Ventures – a multi-faceted ecosystem that uplifts the Global Black experience through frictionless, borderless economic advancements at the intersection of community and culture. Essence Ventures is the world-renowned Black-owned parent company of ESSENCE Magazine, Beautycon, Afropunk and ESSENCE Studios.
The ESSENCE Festival of Culture has been lauded as a “crown jewel of Black culture” that “plays a pivotal role in the amplification and celebration of the contributions of the Black community through business, music and more.” The event propelled ESSENCE to winning the Brands That Matter Award from Fast Company.
I have been honored with awards including the Top 100 in Events Award from the Black Events Network. I am a member of the Event Marketer Summit Advisory Board and a highly sought after speaker – Keynote Speaker at the Event Marketer Summit in 2023.
