Miriam Reid

I am a passionate generalist. I am different and it is by design. I have been a part of insurance industry for over two decades, building a successful career across underwriting, distribution, claims, transformation, operations and business management. I connect ideas, people and initiatives, to deliver outcomes that matter. I understand how insurance companies work cross-functionally and I love to be the thread that ties it all together, the force that brings order to chaos, the person that makes the magic happen.

I take an executive vision and deliver it. I am a strategic partner who makes sure the ship is going in the right direction. I focus on solving business problems, wherever and whenever they arise. I think lean, identify issues, blockers, patterns and inefficiencies where nobody else does and call them out. I prioritise ruthlessly and focus on things that will move the needle. I design solutions and get things done. A force multiplier. A catalyst. A builder.

My team is my priority. I coach, mentor, teach and challenge, bringing the people I work with on a growth journey with me, keeping them out of their comfort zone – but I always have their back. I am passionate about creating transparent organisational cultures built on collaboration, empowerment, trust and empathy. I am a diversity and inclusion advocate, speaker and ally, with a particular focus on advancement of women in the insurance industry.

I learn fast. I strive for excellence. I am driven by adding value. Seeing things improve continuously, solutions being delivered day by day brings me joy and fulfilment.

A wildcard? Maybe. But I truly enjoy being one.
