I’m a passionate leader and disciplined software engineering executive. I’m also a proud father, loving husband, independent filmmaker, and movie geek…but I digress.
Three characteristics create my personal value proposition: innovation, fierce resolve, and humility.
I absolutely love to innovate. I innovate methods from napkin to scaled agile to hacking growth. I innovate technology from virtual reality television to social media platforms to virus detection drones and 95 other patents. But most importantly, I try to inspire innovation in others with patent harvesting sessions, hackathons, innovation medleys, and moonshot goals. I’m a creative geek with a passion to change the world through relentless persistence, and I’m not afraid to have some fun along the way.
I have a fierce resolve to win. I work hard to satisfy a strong need to achieve and I’m proud of my work. I have a BS in Computer Engineering from SDSM&T and an ME in Engineering Management from CU Boulder. I’m a Professional Engineer, a distinguished service award winner, and an outstanding recent graduate. Michael Jordan and youth wrestling established my competitive spirit years ago and engineering leadership keeps it alive today.
But despite my energy and competitive nature, I have an open mind. I listen and learn from every single person I meet, and I build strong professional relationships. I empower my team to find their own "how", and I support them when a calculated risk fails. I seek continuous improvement through retrospection and constant self awareness. I exhibit a curious attention to detail through a never-ending stream of questions. My sense of adventure and desire to change would fail miserably without great teamwork. I've learned empathy through #lifechanging movies and that philosophy is changing my career daily.
Please let me know if you want to grab a cup of strong coffee and have a passionate discussion about leadership, engineering, innovation, or movies.
