My name is Paul Madott and here is my story:

I dropped out of College in 1995 (my second year) and started working in Credit and Collections. In April 2002 I was laid off (fired really) and for 6-months I was out of work. During that time, those 6 months felt like 6 years as I was turned down for a job that I wanted and also passed on a job that was offered to me.

Then I found Sales!

I joined Xerox in August 2002 and stumbled right out of the gate. I must have mentally quit half a dozen times in that first year because I was working really hard but I was doing it the wrong way. But I kept at it by year 3 I achieved President's Club and promoted to Sales Manager.

The Sales Manager's job just wasn't for me. I tried hard but I was highly ineffective. After just 1 year in the role, I started looking at other options and that is when I found the posting for Xerox's National Sales Instructor and for the next 3 years I taught their New Hire School and loved every minute of it.

My final 2 years at Xerox I moved from Toronto to Calgary to run their Production Division and that was the right job at the right time as I really needed a B-12 shot in my life. Mid 30s and just idle.

While in Calgary, I never lost my passion for Training and after almost 10 years representing the same brand I lost my passion for the technology so I decided in 2010 to let go of the corporate branch and start my own training company with my lead program being "SOAR Selling - How To Make Strategic Contact With A Decision Maker."

I was a certified Trainer of SOAR while at Xerox and it worked so well for them that I thought other companies need help getting in the door also...and well I was right as here I am 10 years later working with companies all across the world and having a ball in the process.

One question that I am often asked is, "weren't you scared?" and the answer was yes (and to some degree is still yes) but at the time I thought I didn't want to have any regrets and believed in the product and my abilities and said if it didn't work, my resume was pretty strong that someone would want to hire me.

Today, married with 2 kids, we live a life of CHOICE and my business goal is to get SOAR into the hands of as many Salespeople as possible so they can start to live a life of CHOICE as well.
