TLDR; I am a freelance content designer and copywriter currently solving content challenges for adidas within the acquisition and membership product teams. In addition, I help companies create banging content.
But how did I get here?*
I've had A LOT of gigs. Freelance. Contract. Full time. Part-time. You name it; I've done it. I am what you would call a 'Jane of all trades'. This is my (not-so-secret) superpower. I offer my clients diverse knowledge of a range of industries and subjects.
Where did it all begin?
My career started at a blue-collar recruitment agency in Leicester and an executive search agency in Sydney. Eventually, my cement-grey pencil skirts and starched shirts caused me to ponder: "is there a career where my creativity could shine?."
Experiential marketing proved to be just that ticket. Cue a colourful montage of festival sponsorships, product launches, and sports events. As the years, collapsing tents, generator fails, and my sanity ticked by, I left experiential and slid into client-side marketing like a well-worn but still shiny penny. I eventually found that one particular aspect of marketing appealed to me the most — writing.
[This should have been no surprise seeing as I studied film and literature. Leaving with a portfolio of poorly-executed screenplays and several extra kilos.]
Let's fast forward a few years because we all have work to do. In those heady pre-pandemic days of 2019, I founded my business, You Zig, I'll Zag to offer copywriting and UX content design services. I now have an epic team of writing partners and a kick-ass portfolio of clients.
Outside of writing, I'm a stand-up comic in training, wannabe sitcom writer and UCB-trained improviser.
I appreciate you taking the time and reading up to this point. If you'd like to chat more, please drop me an email at [email protected].
