Communications strategist and storyteller; I thrive on creative projects that combine strategy, problem-solving, and an element of design.

Lover of the world and the beauty and mysteries it holds; for as long as I can remember, I have loved creating beautiful images. Images that challenge the people around me to see the beauty that I see.

My passion has since expanded to include using verbal and written skills to tell stories and distill complex topics into written and visual stories that are easy to understand.

I thrive when I can use my creativity to help people see what I see.

My 14-year career in storytelling has included photography, videography, graphic design, website design, crisis communications, press release and speech writing, and public relations.

I currently lead communications for the City of Gilroy, bridging the gap between the decisions of local government and the community. In this role, I help the community to see why the organization is moving in the direction it is moving. I also help executive leadership see and understand the community. I’m a digital media strategist, content creator, speech writer, public relations specialist, and project manager, and serve as a consultant to executive leadership.

In 2021, I went back to school to pursue a Master’s in Mass Communications. I’ve studied the research behind misinformation and disinformation, communications theory, UX/UI design, communications research theory, and digital marketing. I’m especially excited about my Master’s thesis project, a podcast interviewing strategic communicators at the top of their game. In addition to a podcast, this project will include a website and short-form content. I plan to graduate with my Master’s degree in 2023.

My story isn’t over yet. I’m just getting going. There is so much more to see, do, and learn.

When I’m not thinking deeply about communications and design, I enjoy nature, reading, travel, and spending time with my husband and family.
