Sally French is a spokesperson and writer, sharing her expertise on personal finance, credit cards, investing and travel for NerdWallet.
She joined NerdWallet from The New York Times, where she wrote about travel and personal finance for the print edition and its sister site, Wirecutter. Her travel coverage has been prominently featured in The New York Times "At Home," a new section launched amidst coronavirus. She covered credit cards, frugal travel hacks and new payment technologies.
Separately from her work at NerdWallet, she is a thought-leader and industry expert in the world of drones. In 2013, she launched what started TheDroneGirl.com to document her drone videos. The Drone Girl has since grown into an internationally-known website documenting the drone industry.
Her drone coverage has earned her the title of Fortune Magazine's Most Influential Women in Drones, and she has spoken at dozens of conferences and to media about the latest developments in drones, including Harvard Business School, South by Southwest and at international events including Australia's World of Drones Congress and Drones Middle East
She previously worked as a Social Media Editor for MarketWatch, and a reporter for The Orange County Register. Her freelance work has been published in the BBC, the Economist, CNN, NBC, NPR, and the San Francisco Chronicle.
She has a Bachelor's of Journalism in Investigative Photojournalism and a Bachelor's of Arts in German.
In her free time, she is an internationally-ranked powerlifter, a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Coach, a group fitness instructor at Equinox, and a volunteer at the Walt Disney Family Museum.
