As an author and journalist with over 13 years of experience, I have written and published several books and articles on topics such as gender, free speech, intersectional feminism, technology, and media. My latest book, Rage Becomes Her, was selected as a best book of 2018 by NPR, Book Riot, Washington Post, and other outlets, and received rave reviews from critics and readers alike.
I also have a strong background in media and advocacy, writing frequently about how information ecosystems affect social identity, rights, and politics. I am Director of the Women's Media Center Speech Project, where I work to raise awareness and combat online harassment, hate speech, and disinformation. I also recently served as the Executive Director of The Representation Project, a global organization that uses filmmaking to challenge stereotypes and promote social change. There, I led strategic vision, fundraising, and partnerships for the organization.
use my platform to amplify diverse and marginalized voices, challenge the status quo, and inspire action. I am a recipient of multiple awards and honors for my writing and activism.
