Tapping into a Chinese bilingual dual-cultural mindset, I support my client's China business strategies. I lived and worked in Taiwan, Hongkong, and China for 21 years. For 40 years, I’ve actively studied Chinese languages, cultures, and writings by popular Chinese scholars—in Chinese. I began studying Buddhist texts, to learn mindfulness from Buddhist teachers. The languages, cultures and philosophies of China are fascinating. You may find me reading the Dao, The Art of War, or assisting frustrated clients in communications with Chinese partners.

I became interested in language at a young age—learning French in a trial elementary school program for only six months. Later, in high school, I took French, Spanish, and German. And as a young adult, I had a dream to learn a second language with the same level of fluency as my native English language. Living in China and Taiwan for 21 years, I achieved that dream. Working and living in China from the 1980s allows me a sound foundation in understanding the Chinese and how they do things—often differently than in the US.

I published “The Heart Of China: How Mindfulness Changed My Life.” And I’m preparing to publish at least two books in 2023. The first, a complete course in Pinyin, the Mandarin phonetic system, and another about my dog I raised in Harbin, China. I also write articles for Culturs Magazine, and have a Substack blog.
