Travis brings 16+ years of experience creating grassroots community development programs in Costa Rica. He holds degrees in economics and cultural anthropology from the University of San Diego, where he graduated with Dean's List First Honors and was recognized as a James & Stella Eagen Endowed Scholar.

Travis arrived in Costa Rica as a Peace Corps micro-enterprise development and served as a volunteer 2005-08. He was trained in micro-credit community banking, project design and management, and best practices for sustainable tourism. After completing his field service, Travis worked one year in the Peace Corps Costa Rica central offices in San Jose, providing direct support to 90+ volunteers in the field, and executing administrative duties, and training, including project design and management. Leaving Peace Corps Costa Rica, Travis was contracted as the regional coordinator of microcredit community banking in Osa, Costa Rica, for the Fundacion Integral Campesina (FINCA) in a strategic alliance with the Costa Rica-USA Foundation (CRUSA) where he continued consulting for 6+ years.

He is co-founder of the award winning-B Corp Certified Bodhi Surf + Yoga camp and currently works as a part-time regional coordinator in Osa and Golfito for the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment. He is also the Founder and Vice President of the Costa Rica SOMOS Foundation.
