I am an unconventional person. A data geek that loves to help businesses thrive. A nerdy dad that loves sports and Star Wars. I really just want the world to be a bit kinder to one another.

Non Executive Chair of the Board of Directors at Softcat plc
Hi and thanks for taking time to look at my LinkedIn profile. I have recently become Chairman of Softcat plc and over the coming weeks will look for further opportunities to add value to other businesses and charity organisations. I have had great success and met a ton of really interesting and inspirational people throughout my career in particular a five and a half year stint as CEO of the aforementioned and outstanding IT reseller Softcat plc. Prior to that I am fortunate to have held many interesting positions in several IT distribution companies ( having been acquired four times ) responsible for operations in UK, EMEA and globally. In my earlier years I gained a 2:1 Physiology degree from Edinburgh University and then went on to become a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Young after which I joined a client who was the leading IT distributor in the UK. 30 years in IT distribution followed. I am married to Kathryn ( my first wife !) and we have four children - Alice is now a junior obs and gynae doctor, Jasper is working in the IT industry in sales support, Finlay is on an internship with IMG and Charlotte has just graduated and plans to travel for a short while. When I am not working I love watching and participating in live entertainment - mostly sports related - but focused around club football, international rugby, cricket, golf, tennis, skiing and cycling. I also enjoy theatre, music, film and travel - so pretty mainstream ! In my later years I have started to get involved in charitable concerns giving something back - both time and financial. My main focus areas are a) Supporting a North Eastern Indian community in Churachandpur. b) Social Bite - charity for the homeless in the UK. c) MNDA - for Cookie.

LinkedIn Top Voice | Best Selling Author | Key-Note Speaker | Digital & Data-Led Selling | Founder & CEO of SalesTribe
Iā€™m the Founder and CEO of SalesTribe, the worldā€™s first career transition management company for B2B salespeople, which helps business businesses improve their sales capability, and helps salespeople find new career opportunities. I have worked in the UK, Australia and across Asia Pacific for more than 30 years, in executive B2B sales and sales leadership roles, for some of the worldā€™s most innovative IT, telecommunications, finance and media organizations. I hold an Executive MBA from RMIT and am also a part-time lecturer and student mentor in the RMIT Executive MBA Program. Through SalesTribe, I work with salespeople who are striving to survive in this new, ultra-competitive, customer-led era. They are all struggling to keep pace with changing customer expectations and requirements, and at the same time are grappling with ever-increasing employer expectations. No matter what they do, their performance continues to decline and they are worried about their future in the sales profession. SalesTribe teaches these professionals how to establish themselves as the most highly valued and highly paid sales professionals in their industry by becoming A-Grade performers. It gives users information about the new realities of sales, provides access to an elite network of sales professionals, and shares some of the most competitive and lucrative career opportunities available in sales. In other words, SalesTribe provides all the resources salespeople need to not only protect their careers, but to transform them. Phone - 0411 757 500 Email - [email protected]
