nfluencer Marketing @ Clay
Hey, I'm Obaid 👋🏼 Here's my journey, so far: ☎️ started off in sales, scaled a content writing company from $1.7M ARR to $7.2M ARR in 2 years (this was also my intro to content writing/SEO) 🎭 bootstrapped a 5-person content & animation team to $35k MRR, and edited 3,000+ blog posts, grew 6 websites to 150k+ in monthly search traffic, trained 40+ content marketers, wrote and directed 15 animated explainer videos, and closed $1M in sales along the way 💤 got bored of that side of content marketing (I didn't it find it challenging anymore nor was I learning anything new), so I moved on from running an agency in late 2021, gradually quit all my writing gigs, and began transitioning to demand gen 🎨 started posting more on LinkedIn in March 2022, began exploring new marketing concepts, and creating a variety of content (marketing music, marketing/gaming content, skits, etc.) that got some traction 📚 created a framework that grew a marketing agency's LinkedIn presence (872% increase in views, 917% increase in likes, 104% increase in shares, 64% increase in followers, and $274k in new MRR) in 4 months 🎮 started a podcast called Cheat Codes (which became one of the top 20% most-shared podcasts in the world) and co-created The Easy Mode Framework, which helps B2B SaaS companies turn their in-house marketing team into creators & establish a content engine built on their company's goals, narrative, product, and audience 🎯 implemented the Easy Mode framework at Cognism (their CMO Alice de Courcy wrote a book and talked about me in it, FTW), and parts of the framework at Meta. The Easy Mode Framework is now being used by 20+ B2B SaaS companies, such as Intercom, Directus, and more 🔮 started 2023 tired of jumping around from place to place all of 2022 (and having stumbled upon something I really enjoyed doing with the Easy Mode framework), I took a break from job hunting, deciding I'd choose what kind of work I did and which companies I worked with from that point on 🚀 after a 3-month break and passing on a few companies, I joined HockeyStack as their first and only marketer in March 2023. I created a media engine from scratch that resulted in the company growing from 0 to 7 figures by December 2023 ✈️ in Dec 2023, I moved back to the US and in March 2023, moved on from my role at HockeyStack 🏔 after taking some time off and settling down in Colorado, I joined Clay to create B2B shows I'm a life-long fan of music, anime, the Philadelphia Eagles, and my wife and kids. Feel free to connect if you want to talk marketing, video games, or space. ✌🏼

Vice President, Content & Communications
Content, it is said, “is King”. It takes many familiar forms and is crucial in a world where users and industry observers consume a large volume of information before making a purchase decision or forming an opinion about a company. As a creative content strategist and communications professional, I generate and oversee the production of the engaging content organizations need to better position their solutions in the global marketplace. I have a background in political communications and journalism, and a demonstrated track-record of building data-driven content programs for hyper-growth organizations, Fortune 500 companies, startups and digital publications at a global scale. In addition to managing editorial and creative direction, I develop messaging architectures that inform brand identity, public and analyst relations, product launches and multi-channel marketing campaigns. Whether it’s a website, blog post, infographic, long-form article or video script, I tell compelling stories that increase awareness, establish trust, and build advocacy.

I help companies throughout their HR Digital Transformation by arming talent acquisition leaders with the right recruitment software, data-driven recruitment marketing strategies, and employment brand health reporting to help find qualified talent faster. Leading Change State allows me to take a vendor-agnostic approach to recommend solutions for clients ranging from Fortune 100 companies to early-stage startups. Whether understanding the tactical paths to implement artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning tools to improve the candidate experience, maximizing our clients' recruitment advertising and sourcing platforms, or simply serving as a guide to help clients understand how to appropriately measure their current team's effectiveness - Change State exists to help our clients recruit better. Companies frequently bring me in to recognize system limitations for HR executives while working with end users (recruiters, recruiting managers) to build out direct-to-candidate recruiting strategies. I focus on identifying gaps in the candidate attraction and acquisition phase to maximize return on advertising and sourcing spend. You can catch me running trails and mountains in the great Pacific Northwest in my free time. *I'm always open to lending my expertise to early-stage startups or non-profits.*

"No Bull" Marketing Advice and Content - Speaker | Trainer | Consultant | Agency Owner
Howdy! Most small business owners see little or no results from social media and online marketing. It’s tricky to make it work when marketing isn’t your main interest. So many people are simply wasting their time. Many have websites covered in tumbleweed, blogs left unloved, and social media with more fewer interactions than our dog Benny who’s a ‘reel’ winner on Instagram! The sad thing is, while you’re accidentally sharing dull and scrollable content, your competition is nailing social media and gaining new clients by the day. Years ago I joined Twitter on a whim after chatting to a chap at a wine tasting event. He suggested that Twitter was a great place to ‘sell’ and would work wonders for generating website visitors and people through the door. I tried and failed to sell on Twitter and nearly gave up. I started blogging and having fun with social media. I then added in storytelling, random selfies (#FlamboyantlyParked), images, videos and a stream of content that people seemed to really enjoy. I swapped sales for stories and attracted a local, national, and even international following that generated interest, sales, PR and even national TV coverage. I even found love on Twitter! Since then I’ve created Spaghetti Agency - the wild west marketing agency with my partner Jo who I met on Twitter in 2010. Together with our team of digital cowboys and cowgirls we’re showing people where to dig for gold in the ever-changing Wild West of online marketing. Don’t fail with online marketing. Stop making the mistakes that the majority of people in your position are making and start getting success. REAL success. We work with established businesses on their: 🌵SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) 🌵Content Marketing (Blogs, articles, emails) 🌵PPC (Google Ads, Facebook, and Instagram Ads) 🌵Social media (Consultancy, training, workshops) We might look like cowboys, but we don’t sell you shovels – we show you where the gold is at! No bull, just beef! Contact me now if you want results from your website, social media and content. We’ll work with your current marketing and build you a plan to get results. 📲 01926 942294 📧 [email protected]
