My journey begins as a pre-teen when a Marketing passion brewed from the excitement of Super Bowl Ads. Before YouTube, we had only that one chance to see ‘em.
Fast forward to McGill University, getting a BCom in (you guessed it) Marketing, my 9-5 was product development marketing for a Canadian film distribution company.
My side gig was running an affiliate website called PunMeUp. Writing blog posts such as "Top 10 Punny Valentine's Gifts" that linked to products like “You're One in a Melon” t-shirts.
I liked the business model of connecting merchants to consumers and getting a commission for doing it. It's win-win-win.
It was fun, but just purely running a website can get lonesome. By happenstance, I noticed that almost all my traffic came from Pinterest.
Knowing I wanted to run my own business, I returned to McGill to get a Graduate Degree in Entrepreneurship.
Today, I run KingPin Services, a Pinterest Advertising Agency that provides turnkey Pinterest Marketing and Pinterest consulting for eCommerce businesses. We make it easy for brands to find new audiences on a new platform.
And I still get to connect merchants with consumers 😉
Pinterest Ads are special because they're fluent in the browsing and shopping experience. Ads on other platforms are interruptive and a nuisance.
Extracurricular: I love being a hockey goalie in the winter and playing guitar by the lake in the summer.
