As a teenager, I was supporting my mother running an ice cream shop shortly after we migrated to Canada. That was my first exposure to managing a business, which made me appreciate timely payments from the clients as these were family earnings impacting my everyday life.
Few years later, I was fortunate to build a career in Finance. During my time at a supply chain fund supporting SMEs as an Investment Director, I began to work with companies who struggled because weren’t paid on time. It made me realise that not only small businesses like my mother’s ice cream shop are heavily reliant on timely payments, but businesses of all sizes have a tremendous amount of outstanding invoices that hurt day-to-day activities and prevent businesses from long-term planning and growth.
That’s why I decided to create Kolleno to help CFOs and finance leaders:
• Improve credit control but in a way that did not annoy clients
• Recover outstanding payments through omnichannel communication
