Variety is the spice of life! But also, work.
I have a lot of respect for people that are really great at one thing, but I've always preferred to be really great at a few things (and pretty good at a handful more). I worked for several years in the service and hospitality industry, in nearly every conceivable role. I also tend to navigate towards offbeat/unique roles and industries: Traveling to retail stores as an inventory specialist, facilitating calls for the Deaf and hard-of-hearing as a captionist, and learning everything about appliance repair, diagnosis, and parts from nothing.
What I learned about myself is that I'm extremely detail-oriented, customer-focused, and extract a great deal of value from creating systems, workflows, and processes to improve efficiency and save money. I also really enjoy creating internal documentations and learning materials, while lending an empathetic ear while working towards improved morale.
Freelancing really is my sweet spot. It allows me to delve into ops and project management, but still pick pick up captioning and transcription (my solitary happy place), and writing work while learning new industries, picking up new skills, and continuing education (next up: Technical SEO).
I build systems from scratch, but am also available for shorter consultantion retainers to audit current systems, processes, and workflows to provide suggestions, roadmaps, and tools to tighten up ops. Shoot me an email!
