Research and Strategy Leader | Institution-Builder | Anthropologist of Money, Technology, and Economic Life
I build teams and lead organizations in research strategy, design, and implementation.
I'm an anthropologist and ethnographer with expertise in money, technology, and consumer and cooperative finance. I have experience growing and guiding creative, cross-sector, public-facing collaborations in industry, academia, and nonprofits. I'm also a market researcher, consultant, strategist, writer, and speaker with a track record of helping organizations navigate uncertainty, build capacity, and grow with people-first, strengths-based, outcomes-oriented strategies.
I am the Senior Director of Market Insights & Advisory Services at the Filene Research Institute, a leading consumer finance think tank. In that capacity, I lead the organization's growing custom market research and consulting business. I previously led the original research arm of Filene, including supervising the organization's publication pipeline and partnerships with leading academics, credit unions and other financial services businesses, and nonprofit organizations.
I received my PhD in Anthropology from the University of California, Irvine, where I also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Anthropology and a Research Assistant at the Institute for Money, Technology and Financial Inclusion. I'm a former Gates Cambridge Scholar and current Editor at Large (and former Editor in Chief) of the Journal of Cultural Economy.

GTM Executive | Founding team member scaling from $1M to $740M+ in ARR | Advisor
My love for startups began shortly after joining Qualtrics - a few months post-Scott's basement. Many lessons were learned from scaling Qualtrics from 18 employees and less than 100 customers to over 4,000 employees and over 12,000+ customers, from a basement company to an $8.5B SAP acquisition, and one of the fastest companies to $1B in revenue in the history of SaaS.
When I started, ARR was ~$1M. When I left, it was ~$740M, and the teams I was fortunate to start/be a part of contributed to ~$150M+ of that overall number.
I believe three key elements of a successful team fuel these results: people, processes, and resources.
Account Executive II | Revolutionizing the way teams track and forecast commissions
I'm a dedicated sales professional with interests in the startup world! I love being apart of a team where I'll make a difference and grow exponentially.
I manage a strong team of business and technology analysts as a Content Manager at Gartner, with a background in journalism, market research and content marketing. I love managing creative teams, producing compelling content, and generating actionable advice for business leaders.
I am an innovative, hardworking and accomplished individual with over ten years of experience in marketing, branding, design, demand generation, sales, and customer service. I have a proven track record of surpassing company goals by implementing unique and disruptive strategies, and I pride myself on my ability to oversee and implement multiple, complex projects while managing external/internal stakeholders to meet corporate objectives.
Through my full-time job experience and by launching my own creative agency, I have had the opportunity to collaborate on nearly every type of marketing and creative strategy, from creating a single social media post to leading the rebrand of an entire organization. As an employee and person, I am a self-starter, go-getter, and a team player who is not above any task and I will roll up my sleeves to dive into any project at hand. I have excellent written and verbal communication skills that complement a team approach to problem solving. I believe in dreaming big to accomplish the unthinkable, and I love working with others to get the job done.
In 2014, I graduated from Miami University with a Bachelor of Science in Strategic Communications, a Bachelor of Science in Business - Marketing, and a Minor in Entrepreneurship.
