Rants and Raves: Marketing Framework for Audience Research & Content Planning

How do you prioritize what audience comments & online activity you should focus on for your content planning?

Use our "Rants and Raves" Framework!

When you're looking at online spaces where people from your target audience are expressing their opinions and feelings, look for moments of high emotional intensity.

Those moments of high emotional engagement can be split into 2 types:

1. Rants - negative emotions. People are complaining about something but they need to share WHY they don't like it.

2. Raves - positive emotions. People love something, find something funny, and they want everyone to know WHY they like it.

I frequently like to look for both rants and raves on Reddit, since people are anonymous and often more sincere. But you can implement the same method with any online channel!

In this video, I walk you through one quick example, searching for rants & raves on some lawyer subReddits with the help of SparkToro's audience research data.
