The long but brief story:
Great at academics and great at sports but found my passion in growth marketing.
Spent countless hours taking courses online and tested out those skills at 10 companies, in different industry verticals. I took a sabbatical of 6 months to get ridiculously good at marketing. Unsurprisingly, I have a major in marketing and a degree in business.
Short term goal is to be great at growth marketing. Long term goal is to start something of my own and put these kickass marketing skills to use.
Outside of marketing (if that ever happens), I take active interest in animal welfare, tech startups, and Karate. My mom thinks I should get a hobby other than marketing and she's absolutely right.

Hello! I'm Tarun. I've built my career focusing on creating marketing technology software that have high business value, as well as driving initiatives to prove the value of delivered software through data-driven measurement.
Fifteen years of experience has led me to a position where I form product strategy using deep industry knowledge, and provide an expert voice to customers to help them solve their marketing technology challenges.
With a highly technical background, domain expertise gained from experience, and a curious mind, I have tackled a large variety of responsibilities, from setting the strategy for problems to solve in a product, to building software, to implementing tools that measure effectiveness of solutions through data, to product and vision evangelism (check out my featured links!), and being a lifeline to call supporting every function of a software company.
My pet project tuneUPGRADE, a practice tracker for musicians, (https://www.tuneupgrade.com - click through or see the below "Featured" section for video demo), helps me keep my technical skills sharp and better understand how to play every role in a company to launch and provide user value in a web application, I built, a solo from-the-ground-up project built in C#/ASP.NET and hosted in Azure, handling every aspect of the business - writing every line of code, product managing the problem and feature backlogs, creating and launching the marketing materials, getting feedback from users, and measuring utilization of developed features - and I've had steady growth since I launched a few years ago!
My skillset would work well for roles on product teams covering strategic innovation, data-driven transformation efforts, and product strategy (especially for complex technical topics, such as integrations, APIs, and extensibility).
